Kensley and I both love our credit union for several reasons. Being able to make a difference in not only our members live but in our communities as well is a big part of why we love Scenic Community Credit Union. So far this year we have supported Erlanger Children’s Hospital, Samaritan Center, Northside Neighborhood House, College Scholarships through BBB, Celebrated Nurse Appreciation Day, and so much more. We also love that we are able to contribute to the mission of our CU by sharing our perspectives to our leadership teams. Scenic Community Credit Union
Why do I love my credit union? I love that our organization has a culture of taking the extra step to help our members. A recent story comes to mind of some fraudulent activity that came to our attention. Just like every other financial institution out there, fraud is a daily battle for us. Rather than just filling out a form or adding it to a queue to deal with later, our staff dug a little deeper into what was happening and notified the police quickly. Detectives with our local police department were able to investigate and recover a portion of the funds before they were all lost. Two staff members received a special commendation from the police chief for their actions, recognizing how rare it is to recover any funds lost to scams. Our staff, who I am sure were extra busy during the summer vacation season, could have just done their job, filed the forms, or just shrugged their shoulders at yet another fraud case, but they didn’t. That’s why I love my credit union – they genuinely want to help whenever possible!
