SMYRNA, TN – MARCH 30, 2021 – Veritas Federal Credit Union (VFCU) christened, and cut the ribbon, on their beautiful 8,260 SF headquarters and branch in Smyrna on Friday, March 26, 2021. Built by L. Keeley Construction, a full-service construction company out of St. Louis, this state-of-the-art headquarters and branch serves the financial needs of Nissan North America employees and its affiliates, VFCU’s other select employer groups, and members from certain parts of the community.
Located at 685 Ken Pilkerton Drive, across from the Nissan plant in Smyrna, VFCU’s new facility includes a full-service branch, drive-up facility, and ATM. It also has the ability to serve the Smyrna community with a separate entrance to a boardroom/training center, as well as restrooms and kitchen. The eye-catching architecture is a statement of VFCU’s dedication and commitment to enhancing Smyrna’s financial and cultural growth.
Michelle Garcia, Chairman of the Board of Directors, kicked off the short ceremony: “Our board has been planning and discussing this build for a number of years. We’re thrilled to be here today to have this come to fruition. The building is gorgeous; it’s more than the board ever expected it to be. Thank you, L Keeley, for giving us a bigger and brighter future here in the community.”
Casey Delaney, Director of Business Development for L. Keeley Construction, spoke on the company’s behalf: “We’re thankful for the great partnership with Veritas Federal Credit Union. It’s difficult to take a pretty picture and turn it into a pretty building, and this partnership made that happen.”
Designer Melissa Hildenbrand represented Vvell Studio, an interior design firm out of St. Louis: “A year ago when we met with this team [from Veritas], they stressed the importance of reflecting their community and serving Nissan employees. This core value of serving drove the direction of many elements in the space, including the Chihuly-inspired hubcap art installation, executed by the credit union’s leadership themselves…Unafraid to roll up their sleeves and put the work in, Veritas leadership lives the service that they preach. They are the most down-to-earth, personable, genuine, and wonderful clients we’ve ever had the privilege of working for and this building is one of our best and favorite spaces yet.”
Teri Crowl, CEO of Veritas FCU, wrapped up the formal festivities: “The weekend we first talked about building and we committed to the land purchase, I went out and bought this bottle of champagne with the intention of one day christening the building. This is the realization of a dream, long-held; this is the culmination of that day.
“A lot of people say if you can dream it, you can achieve it. That’s exactly what we did here,” Crowl continued. “Besides the tremendous work of L. Keeley and Vvell Design Studio, we couldn’t have done it without the people standing here with us today. We have folks from VolCorp (our corporate credit union); from our trade association, TN Credit Union League; officials from the Town of Smyrna who have been our support throughout the building process; our staff members who lived this day-to-day over the past year and helped make this happen, and many others, including my parents, who always instilled that there wasn’t anything you couldn’t do if you put your mind to it.”
Following the formal ceremony, Veritas FCU opened its doors to lunch, tours, raffle drawings, and giveaways.
