Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) has been recognized by Forbes as one of the top credit unions in Tennessee. This award is presented annually by Forbes and Statista Inc. and can be viewed on the Forbes website.
To gauge which institutions have the most satisfied members, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey roughly 31,000 people in the U.S. about their financial institutions, evaluating member service, quality of financial advice, online and in-person services, transparency of fees and overall trustworthiness. The study also incorporated Google Reviews and other online ratings.
Only 3% of the 4,900 credit unions in the U.S. made the list, and TVFCU was among the highest scores awarded to Tennessee credit unions.
“At TVFCU, we seek to provide value to our community, and we work each day to improve our members’ financial wellness and enhance their lives,” said Todd Fortner, president and CEO. “It is humbling to know that our members earned this recognition for us through their surveys and reviews, and I am thankful to lead such a dedicated, friendly and talented team.”
Since its creation in 1936, TVFCU has prioritized member service and innovation. In 2015, TVFCU was a pioneer of interactive teller machines (ITMs) and has introduced more than 104 ITMs throughout its service area, increasing efficiency and reducing wait times for members. Other services, like the tvfcuLIVE Stream and tvfcuLIVE Line, make financial management quicker, easier and more accessible than ever before.
In addition, the credit union has bolstered member service through offerings like Perks Checking accounts which come with roadside assistance, cell phone protection, ID theft aid, a health savings card, special offers with hundreds of local retailers and more. TVFCU is also preparing to implement new online and mobile banking platforms, providing members with even more benefits and tools.
Today, TVFCU serves more than 175,000 members who live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school throughout their 17-county service community in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia. With more than $2.5 billion in assets and 23 branches throughout the area, TVFCU is the largest credit union in the region. For more information, please call (423) 634-3600 or visit tvfcu.com.
