Tennessee Credit Unions Raise More Than $28,000 to Help Children Facing Loss of a Parent Create a Happy Core Memory

If you’ve been on social media lately, you’ve probably noticed the hashtag #CoreMemory. The term was first introduced in Pixar’s 2015 movie, “Inside Out” as 11-year-old Riley is driven by five emotions in her brain that are all characterized by a significant memory.

Simply, core memories refer to a specific set of memories that hold more emotional value. Some examples include an incredible family vacation, first kiss and graduation. It also includes sad times like divorce and the loss of a loved one.

Children facing the loss of a parent will create some happy core memories at the Inspire Hope Credit Union Retreat, Oct. 25-27 in Nashville. Through the retreat, children will meet friends who are going through the same situation they are in. They will also have a chance to have some fun as a family.

A big thank you to Tennessee credit unions for raising more than $28,000 to fund the retreat! While this is an incredible amount, we are shy of our $75,000 goal. Here’s how you can help on the Inspire Hope Credit Union Retreat page.
