The first session of the 112th General Assembly of Tennessee concluded last week, bringing to a close a final flurry of activity from the state’s lawmakers. On the credit union front, the bill to increase the Homestead Exemption passed both chambers unanimously and, last week, was signed into law by Governor Lee. This brought our legislative business to a conclusion for the season.
Today, a new season begins – one of preparation for 2022. The challenges we faced from the Grocers, Retailers, and others will not go away and 2022’s advocacy begins now. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be working to increase our PAC fundraising and giving, and get legislators into credit unions with you all.
In addition, make plans to attend our Summer Legislative/Regulatory Forum July 12-13 at the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville. Registration is already open for this event!
