Larry Pressley, CEO and president of City Employees Credit Union in Knoxville, will retire on Tuesday, April 30. Here’s a Q&A in honor of Pressley’s 41-year credit union career.

41 years.
Describe your first role within the financial services industry.
Collection manager.
Looking back on your career, what has been your most rewarding accomplishment?
We never closed any of our offices during the COVID-19 shutdown.
What do you hope people will remember the most about your leadership?
I promoted from within.
What propelled you to stay within the credit union industry?
Taking a small credit union and improving it year after year and receiving nationwide reconnection for our financial performance the past few years.
What advice do you have for young professionals?
Treat all of your employees fair, don’t be bias.
What’s next for you? What are you most looking forward to in retirement?
Not shaving.
