The Northeast Chapter of Credit Unions recently held their legislative appreciation night in Kingsport, Tennessee. There were several lawmakers in attendance including outgoing Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey. The chapter puts this meeting together every year to recognize the hard work that lawmakers put in on behalf of not only credit unions but all Tennesseans. This is one of the best-attended meetings they have all year with numbers exceeding 100 plus most years.
Lawmakers appreciate this meeting because it gives them an opportunity to interact with credit union personnel and members in a friendly, non-threatening environment. Each lawmaker is given a few minutes to speak to the group to discuss what they see impacting credit unions in the coming year at the legislature.
Tennessee lawmakers do a great job for Tennessee; our state continually ranks as one of the best fiscally responsible states in the country.
