The Tennessee League Provides Advisory Support for Credit Union Volunteers and Leaders
The Tennessee League offers a confidential space for credit union board members and supervisory committee members to seek expert advice from experienced credit union professionals. Credit union volunteers often face questions related to their duties and responsibilities, and this service is designed to provide them with specific, practical solutions. The Credit Union Retired Executive program or CURE Advisory Service, a benefit available to Tennessee Credit Union League members, offers quick and easy access to expert guidance. It is available to credit union board members, credit and supervisory committees, managers, and CEOs.
About the CURE Advisory Service
The service aims to provide mentorship and advice to credit unions in need, drawing from the extensive experience of retired credit union executives. These advisors have had long, successful careers in Tennessee credit unions. The program launched early last year, initially identifying credit unions that could benefit from the service.
The advisory team consists of three initial members, each representing different parts of the state:
- Kathy Campbell – East Tennessee
- Paul Johnson – Middle Tennessee
- Janice Welch – West Tennessee
Another retired executive, Craig Peters, former CEO of Enrichment FCU and partner at Peters and Associates CPA, joined the team recently.
How to Access the Service
To reach credit unions statewide more effectively, a dedicated website has been launched, allowing credit union officials to contact the advisors directly: https://www.yourleague.org/solutions/consulting/
Confidential and Personalized Support
All questions and discussions through the CURE Advisory Service are completely confidential. Issues commonly addressed include membership expansion, strategic planning, liquidity, bookkeeping, or support for individuals who are new to their roles and need guidance on where to start. This service embodies the credit union movement’s core value of “credit unions helping credit unions” in Tennessee.
If you’re a credit union volunteer or leader seeking advice or wanting to discuss general or specific credit union concerns, you can reach out through the website. An advisor will connect with you soon.
