Healthcare Services Employees Contribute to Create Zen Garden at Erlanger Hospital

The below email was sent to us by Jed Mescon, Vice President Public Relations & Marketing for Erlanger Health System.

I’m not sure if an email is the proper way to thank the employees and management  of Healthcare Services Credit Union for what they did for our hospital campus yesterday? Your donation to this project built the beautiful entrance that was created by an Erlanger construction crew member. You can take a look at the pictures below and see it for yourself. What you will not see is the amount of kindness that was generated in that small garden. Everyone can agree that the world needs a lot more kindness, but paying it forward takes desire and initiative. What started as a simple phone call to Susan Tant, turned into a month’s long  gathering or gardeners and dreamers who would eventually create a world class Zen Garden thanks to my colleague, Cindy Olson. It’s a garden that our families can sit in while their loved ones are in the hospital. A garden, where research shows, that spending time in a wooded area is good for your mind, body and spirit. A garden that our thousands of employees can use and show off with pride. Thank you to our friends who are across the street from this garden. This project is all about gratitude and giving back to others. This garden will always be filled with laughs, some tears and plenty of reflection.
