Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union (TVFCU) announced that Eric Weekley has been promoted from vice president of real estate to vice president of consumer and mortgage lending. This is a new position at the credit union that will combine his current responsibilities in the real estate department with a leadership role in the credit union’s consumer lending division.
“Eric has been indispensable in our real estate department since he started at TVFCU nearly four years ago,” said Todd Fortner, president and CEO. “We’ve seen tremendous growth under his leadership, with TVFCU becoming the Chattanooga area’s top mortgage lender by dollar amount and number of loans last year. We’re grateful for his drive and expertise.”
Weekley joined TVFCU in March 2019, previously spending five years at ORNL Federal Credit Union in Knoxville as vice president of mortgage lending. Weekley has ample experience in the financial and economic industries, working as a processor, originator, operations manager and vice president on several mortgage and consumer lending teams throughout his 25-year career.
Now, as TVFCU’s vice president of consumer and mortgage lending, Weekley will lead both credit union divisions as they work with members regarding mortgages, HELOCs, auto loans, education loans and other personal loan options.
“Mortgages, auto loans and other personal loan opportunities account for some of the most important investments many people will make in their lives,” said Weekley. “TVFCU, as a local not-for-profit financial cooperative, is dedicated to creating an excellent experience through low rates and unmatched member service. In my new role, my goal is to make every loan as smooth and rewarding as possible for our members.”
To support this effort, Weekley is looking to expand his team with an indirect loan funding officer and mortgage loan originator assistant. These and other career opportunities can be found on TVFCU’s online career center.
Originally from Williamstown, W.Va., Weekley earned his bachelor’s from Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. Aside from his work, Weekley serves on the board of the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chattanooga.
