While credit unions around the globe work tirelessly for member service every day, International Credit Union Day is special because it is a time when we know our colleagues near and far are celebrating members the exact same day! That’s more than 86,000 credit unions in 118 countries.
On International Credit Union Day, 163 farmers in Ukraine received fuel coupons from the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) just in time to help them sow their winter crops. Learn more about this incredible story.
Back closer to home, credit unions across the Volunteer State celebrated by hosting member appreciation events throughout the day.
Scenic Community Credit Union, headquartered in Chattanooga, hosted a grand opening for their new East Brainerd Branch. The newly-constructed branch highlights 25 years of service to the East Brainerd community. The morning kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and was followed by activities throughout the day, including tours, raffles, food trucks, a radio remote and trick-or-treating.
Nashville Post Office Credit Union helped educate members about identity theft and hosted a shred event.
