Erica Nicholson, vice president of compliance at Clinchfield Federal Credit Union, helped educate seniors about financial exploitation on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
A presentation was provided to the residents and staff of Governor’s Bend Retirement and Assisted Living. It was also open to the community. The presentation focused on ways to identify, stop and report fraud, protect your personal identifiable information and tips on how to avoid hidden fees. Those attending the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day seminar also shared some of their personal experiences or the experiences of their loved ones.
Clinchfield Federal Credit Union holds these seminars once or twice a year at different locations to a variety of audiences to help spread the word and teach the community how they can protect themselves.
