CHOICE Act Passes House

We are pleased to share the good news that the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Financial CHOICE Act on June 8, 2017.

The House voted 233-186 to pass the Financial CHOICE Act, a regulatory relief bill with several credit union-friendly provisions. While there are several additional measures of relief for which the Tennessee Credit Union League and CUNA will continue to advocate on our members’ behalf, this piece of legislation could provide significant relief to credit unions.

There’s still work to be done, particularly in getting the Senate to act. We will be asking for your continued advocacy efforts and will follow up with additional information on contacting Senator Corker and Senator Alexander.

Pushing this legislation through the House was a major victory; we thank you for your contacts to members of Congress!

Sincerely,
Sheila Franklin
