Tennessee credit unions headed north to the Bluegrass state for the premier advocacy event of the summer- Advocacy on Track. They were joined by credit union advocates from Kentucky and Ohio for the two day event.
Things kicked off Thursday evening at the Louisville Slugger Museum with a reception sponsored by Envisant and SRM. Attendees were treated to the batting cages and an evening with credit union friends.
On Friday the main event began at Churchill Downs with NCUA Board Member Tonya Otsuka. She explained her regulatory philosophy with credit union advocates and outlined her priorities for the coming year. She took questions from the group on overdraft and artificial intelligence. Pace Bradshaw of Visa gave an update on the Credit Card Competition Act and an overall economic outlook with the elections looming. We ended the days’ program with a Congressional Panel Discussion featuring Congressman Andy Barr, Congressman Warren Davidson, and Congressman John Rose, moderated by our sponsor FHLB Cincinnati President and CEO Andy Howell. The Congressmen shared their legislative priorities they are working on including CDFI Fund accountability, CFPB accountability and less regulation overall.
Following Fridays program and lunch, attendees took to the track for horse racing and networking sponsored by Visa. Advocacy on Track 2024 was a huge success and we are looking forward to next year!
